Installation of the new Dental SideKick patient education program is a snap.
Use the simple steps below to help guide you through the installation process.
STEP 1:
 This program is on a DVD disc. You will first need to verify that your computer has a DVD drive. If your computer only has a CD drive, it will be necessary to call InfoStar and ask for a CD installation of the SideKick. |
 Insert the SideKick disc into your computer's CD/DVD drive. The program will auto-run if using a computer that has Windows XP. For Windows Vista, or Windows 7 computers you may see an "AutoPlay" screen appear.
 If you do not see anything appear within 1 minute, you may need to manually start the process.
To manually start the SideKick launcher, navigate your computer to: "My Computer" and double-click on the CD/DVD drive that says "SideKick" next to it.
 The SideKick Launcher will now appear.

STEP 2:
 Start the installation process by first installing Adobe AIR. Do this by clicking on the "Step 1: Install Adobe AIR" button. The Adobe AIR Setup will appear.
Click "I Agree" and AIR will install.
Once completed, Click the Finish button.
| If you do not have Adobe AIR on your computer, it will be impossible to proceed with the installation. If you already have Adobe AIR installed, you can skip to Step 3. |

STEP 3:
 After you have successfully installed Adobe AIR on your computer, start installing the SideKick on your computer by clicking on the "Step 2: Install SideKick" button.
The SideKick Application Install screen will appear.
Allow the program to ready the necessary files for installation.
 The next screen to appear will be the install screen. Click "Install."
 You will now see the Program properties screen. Here you can tell the program to automatically generate a shortcut to your Desktop and change the installation path.
Once finished, click Continue and the program will start the installation process.
 Congratulations, you have now installed the Dental SideKick on your computer. |
 SERVER INSTALL NOTE: If you are installing the Dental SideKick on your server, you will need to follow the steps 1 through 3 as listed above. Furthermore you will need to complete Step 2 (installing Adobe AIR) on all Chair-side computers that will use the program.
